Formed in 2006 by living historians who want to tell a story of the ground crews who worked day and night to keep the aircraft flying to defeat the Axis powers in WW2. The first event that was attended was a historical timeline at the Tubac presidio in Arizona. The first large event anyone from the ground crew went to was the dedication of the Air Force memorial in Washington D.C in 2006. After that we started to recruit and soon we had our “premier event” the Collings foundation bomber fantasy camp. We sent a call out to people who portrayed ground crews to come to Stockton California for the camp to help out and the rest was history. We are now a regular at the historic Wendover field museum in Wendover Utah with our barracks display and maintenance display. We now number 12 in the state of Arizona and approximately 24 throughout the USA. We strive for historical accuracy in both uniforms and attitude to properly represent the ground crews of the Second World War.
